Some Down Time With Dallas Friends In Seattle.
Liz and I joined our life long friends Mike and Gayle from Dallas for 5 days of catch-up in Seattle. I have spent countless hours in that great city on business, but this was the 1st time we focused on R&R.
With no business on the plate we had the luxury of being just tourists. We poked into parts of the city that were completely new to me, we rode on the street cars, we jumped on the monorail, discovered how planes are built and we took boat ride through the locks. If you have ever been to Seattle you know that traffic can be a continuous nightmare - that promises only to get worse with the infusion of tech giants Google, Amazon, Adobe into the mix - so we decided to leave the car in the garage for the week and used Uber to get around. Worked great.
We also got more that a little silly and joined the younger crowd on one of the Ride-the-Ducks tours. Highly energetic tour guides, packed with facts about the city, and non stop silliness. Great fun, recommended for its entertainment value and I came home with a "quacker".
We had a ball and are already planning our next trip.
