HOW TO INCREASE YOUR FOCUS BY 25% INSTANTLY
A study by the University of Southern Maine set out to confirm if the mere presence of our phones would distract our brain. The conclusion: it has a big effect.
It's not good enough to put your phone on silent or vibrate to maintain your concentration.
Your phone has to be out-of-sight and out-of-mind.
Otherwise, you will incur an attention deficit of 25% versus not having the phone around.
This is Brain Bulletin #108 by Terry Small.
The smart phone is also affecting our inter-personal relationships by reducing our ability to listen, less trust, less empathy, less intimacy.
I would surmise that people who are married to their phone are experiencing commitment issues. It's as simple as putting your phone away for a bit every day.
