JAPANESE CANADIAN HISTORY
A major initiative of the Japanese Canadian Legacies has been to incorporate the history of the internment in school curriculum.
Finally, the story of the Japanese Canadian internment will be added to the B.C. Social Studies 10 curriculum alongside topics such as the Holocaust and Residential Schools.
I didn't find out about the internment until my 30s and that Japanese Canadians were not allowed to vote until April 1, 1948.
