Michelle's Amazing Garlic

Michelle is definitely the most accomplished farmer on our team and her garlic haul this year is proof.

This amazing elephant garlic took 2 years to grow. That's because elephant garlic is biannual, if you pull it after only a year you get a giant round, that is super easy to peel and gives you a lot of bang for your buck. But if you leave it for another year it will segment and form these large heads.  Also, elephant garlic is not actually garlic but a variety of leek.  Either way, they are delicious, milder than garlic, and super fun and easy to grow.

All in all we got 51 heads of Russian Red garlic and about two dozen elephant garlic.  Now we just have to try and keep Michelle from ripping up the front lawn to create a giant garlic farm. Or maybe we should just let her do it...
