REVIEW BEFORE YOU BUY

Before you buy a product, look for online reviews first.

#1: The number of reviews: thousands of reviews are better than hundreds to give a more balanced cross section of experiences.

#2: Sponsored reviews: these are not impartial, they are paid by advertisers.

#3: Read the worst reviews first: are the failings consistent or varied? In my experience, consistent failure remarks are due to product design whereas various types of failures are due to personal preference. 

#4: Ships from: does it come directly from Amazon or a third party? There are freight costs when returning a product to a third party.
