Wow! Look at the Returns

This house in Ohio was bought in May of last year for about $30,000, including reno costs. Since July it rented for $800/month and generated a steady income with positive cash flow. We sold it today for $67,000. This is a great return on investment.

Another Great Opportunity

Every so often a deal comes across my desk that I can't refuse. I put an offer on this hotel for $880,000 and it was accepted. The renos will cost about $1.1M and the ARV is projected at $7.5M

The Founder Movie: The Biggest Lesson About The Value Of The Brand

If you haven't watched The Founder movie about Ray Kroc, you should. It is one of the best movies about entrepreneurship.

One of the moments in the movie was very impactful. I created a short clip from this segment because it is a great illustration of the value of the brand.

Check out this 2-minute clip at http://tmf.rocks/raykroc

I'll leave you with a great quote from Ray Kroc, "You’re not going to get it free. You have to take risks, and in some cases you must go for broke. If you believe in something, you’ve got to be in it to the ends of your toes. Taking reasonable risks is part of the challenge. It’s the fun."

Focus on the Moment

On April 1 four of our family members went to Sterling Glass Works for a demonstration on how to make a beautiful glass flower. We got all the training we needed in about 1 hour and then we made our version of art work.(I think I could have used more training.)

Benjamin Kikkert, our instructor, stressed that we should not lose focus. It's all about focusing on what you are doing in the present. If you work too slowly the glass cools and becomes brittle. You have to work fast and return the glass to the ovens. Once the glass is reheated, then the glass maker repeats the process and continues to pull and clamp and work the glass until you have your perfect end product. Mine was less than perfect.

Focus, get the job done and then you will have the desired result.

Spring Break in Puerto Vallarta

Our family went on a great vacation to Puerto Vallarta. It was sunny and warm, more that what can be said of Vancouver during Spring Break. This was the first trip with my grand kids. They seemed to love the water and sand. My next trip is to Dallas. I hope it's warm there too.

It is always best when you can go on a vacation and pay wholesale prices rather than retail, when you book on Expedia or Travelocity.
