OVERCOMING OVERWHELM PARALIMINAL

Are you suffering from the mental anguish of overwhelm? Or do you know someone who is?

This is something that I deal with on an ongoing basis as I take on more challenges.

So I surround myself with coaches: 2 business coaches, an angel healer, a psychotherapist, a psychologist, harmony & integration facilitator and a personal trainer; to keep me balanced and get me back into the flow of life.

Dr. Ursula Wild referred me to her intern Shawn Pritchard in 2012, a former Buddhist monk. He taught me the simply amazing 3-second mindfulness meditation technique: RISING & FALLING.

Whenever you feel overwhelmed or anxious:

(1) Inhale and say to yourself "Rising"

(2) Exhale and say to yourself "Falling:

Your chest is rising as you breathe in, and your chest is falling as you breathe out.

That's it. You're done. By doing this, it brings you into the present moment.

For those of you who would like a more concrete solution, there is a CD that you can listen to every day for a week that will help. It is the Overcoming Overwhelm Paraliminal by Paul Scheele of The Learning Strategies Corporation.

I met Paul in 2005 during their Train The Trainer III program on accelerated learning techniques. I consider him an enlightened master and a brilliant human being.

13 THINGS MENTALLY STRONG PEOPLE DON'T DO

My friend and colleague, Ken Keis of CRGleader.com forwarded this great Ted Talk about becoming mentally strong

Amy Morin Ted Talk: The Secret of Becoming Mentally Strong

Ken writes that no matter what you're going through, this episode will leave you feeling encouraged, and a little bit mentally stronger.

The secret to becoming mentally strong is to give up your bad mental habits.

Just like becoming physically strong, you need to go to the gym and work out but in addition to that you also need to stop eating junk food.

Mental strength is the same. You practice gratitude and also give up the bad habits like resenting somebody else's success or it will hold you back.

How do you train your brain to think differently?

It starts by countering those unhealthy beliefs with healthier ones.

Amy shares her personal tragedies that helped her understand mental strength.

Just one small change is where it starts.

A NEW NURSING GRADUATE IN CAMBODIA

I was introduced to Srey Nech (aka Courtney) in November 2014 through investor friends. She was seeking a sponsor to put her through medical school.

When I asked how much it would be to put her through Phnom Penh University, the answer simply stunned me. The tuition with living costs would be approximately U$3,000 per year for three years.

Kanitha graduated last year from Midwifery. Courtney just passed her national nursing final exam.

Both of these women are now role models for young girls in their village.

Vuthy Nurn is the founder of the Youth Development Center in Kampot.

Youth With A Mission or YWAM was the sponsoring Canadian agency.

Courtney is the center person giving the peace sign.

Best House Plants To Purify Your Air + Reduce Stress

We can all benefit from better air quality in our homes. There are a variety of easy to grow and maintain plants that can improve indoor air quality. Take the common English Ivy.

NASA scientists listed the English ivy as the number one best air-filtering houseplant, as it is the most effective plant when it comes to absorbing formaldehyde. It's also incredibly easy to grow and adaptable -- try it as a hanging or a floor plant. Grow in moderate temperatures and medium sunlight.

For a more comprehensive list of the top 10 plants, check out this article in the Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/best-houseplants-destress_n_2964013
