EVO CAR SHARE (CAR2GO)

On our way to Hawaii, we store our vehicle at the Park 'n Fly and noticed several EVO Cars stored on the lot, and a CAR2GO pulled up behind us.

Steve chatted up the driver of this EVO Car and the cost was $12 from downtown Vancouver to the airport, much more cost effective than taking a taxi.

So I signed up for the EVO Car Share app.

The $35 annual membership fee is waived if you have a BCAA account, so it's zero.

But there is a $2.14 annual Car Share Operator fee required for insurance purposes.

Until the arrival of Uber, this EVO car share seems like a great way to get started.

We actually like taking Public Transit from Langley to downtown Vancouver, but then you're kind of stuck getting around without wheels.

Part of the registration process is getting your ICBC Driver's Abstract at:

https://onlinebusiness.icbc.com/clio/

You can earn 30 minutes for signing up and I receive 30 free minutes for each referral so it's a win-win. Just use this referral code to get your free minutes:  C000166437.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR FOCUS BY 25% INSTANTLY

A study by the University of Southern Maine set out to confirm if the mere presence of our phones would distract our brain. The conclusion: it has a big effect.

It's not good enough to put your phone on silent or vibrate to maintain your concentration.

Your phone has to be out-of-sight and out-of-mind.

Otherwise, you will incur an attention deficit of 25% versus not having the phone around.

This is Brain Bulletin #108 by Terry Small.

The smart phone is also affecting our inter-personal relationships by reducing our ability to listen, less trust, less empathy, less intimacy.

I would surmise that people who are married to their phone are experiencing commitment issues. It's as simple as putting your phone away for a bit every day.

ROCKET FUEL: WHAT ARE YOU?

The book "Rocket Fuel: The One Essential Combination That Will Get You More Of What You Want From Your Business" by Gino Wickman describes Visionaries and Integrators as the dynamic duo that can accelerate a business like a rocket booster.

There is a Rocket Fuel Assessment that you can take to find out if you are a Visionary or an Integrator, and discover your true strengths.

Interestingly, my Integrator score is 86 and my Visionary score is 80.

Famous examples of astounding and productive Visionary-Integrator relationships:

Walt Disney (V) and Roy Disney (I)

Ray Kroc (V) and Fred Turner (I)

John D. Rockefeller (V) and Henry Flagler (I)

Henry Ford (V) and James Couzens (I)

Bill Gates (V) and Paul Allen (I)

Soichiro Honda (V) and Takeo Fujisawa (I)

QUANTUM HEALING ENERGY

I made the decision to have all 4 wisdom teeth extracted last month.

My teeth are very tight and of late, even flossing and Waterpik'ing on top of brushing were still not sufficient to remove food particles lodged between the back molars.

Not exactly the highlight of the month to have your teeth removed.

So the day before the extraction, I called a meeting to order.

I gave my body a notification of an important event: the extraction of all 4 wisdom teeth tomorrow.

I gave the reason why this was being done, to continue a healthy dental regimen, and that this will require the sacrifice of 4 teeth for the greater good.

I thanked the teeth for their years of service, gave appreciation to them with the backing of my entire body, we all said goodbye and released them.

I also asked for no bleeding, no swelling and no pain.

The dentist laughed when I told him that I had prayed for my teeth.

He was quite amazed that the entire extraction took less than an hour, with hardly any bleeding, no swelling, hardly any pain.

Dr. Joe Dispenza used his mind-body connection to heal his broken back.

Emily Fletcher of Ziva Meditation has clients who have experienced complete healing.

The energy of quantum physics is fascinating and completely underutilized by us.

3 PSYCHOLOGICAL TRICKS TO HELP U SAVE $

Thanks to Schooley Mitchell for their newsletter tip on this 5-minute TED Talk video featuring Wendy de la Rosa who explains how to save money by changing your decision-making environment.

There are 3 psychological tips:

1: pre-commitment

2: transition moments

3: manage small frequent purchases

We all know saving is important but we do it less. The amount you save depends on environmental cues around you.

They did an experiment showing people their monthly budget on a monthly basis and on a weekly basis.

The people who saw their budget on a weekly basis had $25 left at the end of the month versus the monthly group who had none. The amount of money didn't change. They just changed the environment in which they understood their income.

Environmental cues like this have an impact on your spending and saving habits.

Check out the video to find out more environmental cues on how to bridge the gap from your intention to save to actual results.

7 RIDDLES TO TEST YOUR BRAIN POWER

This fun 8-minute video with over 38 million views hosted by Bright Side tests your brain power.

We know more about the stars than we do about our brain.

This test will calculate the approximate "age" of your brain.

Oh well, I got 4 out of 7 in less than 5 seconds.

This is why it is important to continually stimulate your brain and you can do it through brain games such as Lumosity, Sudoku, Crossword Puzzles, and new game apps designed to challenge your brain.
