Jinjoo, 11 Years Young :-)

So this August 18 Jinjoo turned 11.

Surprisingly he's still full of energy like a puppy, and people still ask if he's a puppy when they meet him.

It's common for dogs to start showing age at about 10, but this little guy just keeps on like a puppy, even our veterinarian said he's still puppy like.

So what gives? How is it that he's still so youthful?

One thing we've always suspected is that his food wasn't 100% compatible with his body chemistry so about 6 months ago we began transitioning him to a new food.

We chose Pets 1st because its made locally by a family that Have been making Dog and Pet food for 25 years.

So how did we find Pets 1st?

Makai was walking Jinjoo a few years ago and met a lady with a couple of dogs that seemed really healthy, that lady mentioned the dogs where over 10 years old and Makai was surprised at how spry and youthful they seemed so she asked "what do you feed them?".

It's taken some time for Jinjoo to adjust to the new food as it's much richer in protein and fats than the previous food.

And not so surprisingly his energy level increased with the new food and he seems to enjoy it more than his old food.

So if your getting a dog or your older dog has low energy or any other issues that you suspect may be food related we certainly recommend Pets 1st food.

Enjoy, Rick G :-)

Mindfulness - How "Expressing" instead of Competing creates Greater Fulfillment in Life

I've read about and studied the topic of "Expressing, instead of Competing" from multiple writers as it's been written and re-written by so many.

But why?

Over the years of practice and focus on this topic I've discovered the profound power  of Expressing which is essentially doing the things your most passionate about, or that are most authentic to your happiness and fulfillment.

Focusing on expressing has allowed me to leave the idea of competing behind, once your no longer distracted by competing, you can focus 100% of your energy and effort on the those specific thing that answer to, "The Ultimate Vision of Your Life".

Here's why.

Let's start with the Grand Daddy of all the Personal Development and Manifesting books, "The Science of Getting Rich" written in 1910 by Wallace D. Wattles.

Mr. Wattles Writes; "You are to become a creator, not a competitor. You are going to
get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it every other person whom you affect will have more than he has now."

Steve Seibold writes in his book 177 Mental Toughness Secrets;

"Champions are able to move beyond the boundaries of competition and create what the masses believe is impossible".

These are 2 of the most impactful books I've read, study them over and over, create the thought processes and habits they teach, and watch your life transform around you.

First Time Home Buyer Incentive Program

On September 2nd, the Government of Canada launched a new program to help first-time home buyers to lower mortgage costs. The new $1.25-billion incentive program would allow prospective buyers to apply for an interest-free loan from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

Here's a ton of info on the new program.

An Eligibility Calculator to test and evaluate different financial scenarios and view their impact on mortgage payments.

Product Highlight Sheet (PDF) including a summary of key program details in a format that is easy to download, print and share.

Journey Map breaking down the application process step by step.

An Application Process diagram (PDF) showing the interactions between all of the parties involved. (Available on desktop only).

The government would share in the equity in the property.  If the government gave 5% of the purchase price, they would need to receive 5% of the sale when it is sold.  This is great if the price goes down, but in a city like Vancouver, where prices have been consistently going up, that could equal a lot of money.  They don't want back the original 5% of the purchase price, they want back 5% of the value when it is sold.

Let me know if you have any questions about these programs, I can refer you to the experts in this field.

Enjoy, Rick G.
