Above is a list of foreclosures in the Lower Mainland and beyond.

There are some great deals to be had for either your own home or as a rental property.  Check them out at the links above.

Bank of Canada Announcement

The Bank of Canada announced a decrease in the benchmark interest rate used to qualify homebuyers for high ratio mortgages. The rate drops to 4.79% down from 4.95%.

This is not the interest rate you pay on your mortgage, but it is the interest rate that determines the affordability of your payment.

This means that someone trying to qualify for the maximum mortgage their income provides will be able to borrow a little bit more and buy a slightly more expensive home.

I Learned to Water Ski!

I love trying new sports. I have been invited out a few times to try water skiing up the Indian Arm. It is so incredibly intimidating and fun to be pulled behind a boat. It took me a few tries to get up but once I was out of the water I can ski for a few minutes.

My next goal is to be able to ski back and forth in the wake! Wish me luck!

Saturday Walks with my Dad

A few years ago my dad started to walk every Saturday, no matter the weather. We generally walk between 6-10km depending on how he feels.

We start at Yaletown station and Siwash walk is around the 7km mark of our journey.

CRA Extends Tax Deadline

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has announced the deadline to pay any tax amount owing has been extended until September 30.  The previous extended deadline was September 1.

The new deadline applies to individual, corporate, and trust income tax returns. Late-filing fees are also waived until September 30. CRA is encouraging everyone to file as soon as possible to avoid interruptions to any benefits received by the government.
