BENEFITS OF GRATITUDE

Cicero – “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”

William Arthur Ward – “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

Oprah Winfrey – “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

Charles Spurgeon – “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.”

The psychology of gratitude improves well-being for ourselves and others.

MENTAL BENEFITS

Do you get anxious about feeling anxious?

Mindfulness is a scientifically proven technique that calms both the sympathetic (stress) and parasympathetic (rest) nervous system.

This 9-minute Ted Talk by Andy Puddicombe explains the benefits of doing 10-minutes of nothing per day.

This 2-minute animation is a story version about the 2 wolves - the long version.

The 4-point challenge by Psychologist Dr. Tracey Marks are:

1. Be aware.

2. Do one thing at a time - no multitasking.

3. Be intentional.

4. Listen when others are talking.

These mindfulness techniques reduce anxiety, alleviate depressive symptoms, and enhance overall emotional resilience.

THE COST OF FREEDOM

Have you considered the price others have paid for us to enjoy our freedoms? I am grateful for their service and sacrifice.

Did you know that Japanese Canadians were not allowed to own property between 1942 to 1949 and were not allowed to vote until March 1949? I am grateful for the Japanese Canadian Citizens League.

Did you know that I was $40,000 in debt in 2001 and financially free by December 31, 2003? I am grateful for T. Harv Eker of Peak Potentials Training who helped me create a new money blueprint.

“If you are willing to do only what’s easy, life will be hard. But if you are willing to do what’s hard, life will be easy." One of my favorite Harv Eker quotes.

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Cultivate a 5-minute daily habit of journaling everything you are grateful for.

This practice improves mental health, enhances happiness, strengthens relationships, promotes resilience, improves sleep quality, increases self-awareness, and boosts physical health.

Studies show that people who journal regularly are 25% happier with better health outcomes.

This 1-minute video explains how to start a gratitude journal.

All it takes is 5-minutes a day. Because you're worth it.

RELATIONAL BENEFITS

We aren't taught how to communicate effectively in school.

Most of us learn the hard way - through trial and error.

Active listening is a form of communication that is more than just hearing words - it involves fully concentrating, understanding, and responding to what someone is saying.

This promotes a deeper connection while building rapport, respect, and trust with others.

This 7-minute video demonstrates the art of active listening

Communication is pervasive - meaning, you cannot not communicate.

"Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit" (Proverbs 18:21).

FINANCIAL BENEFITS

We talk about freedom like it’s the ultimate goal — but few are truly willing to pay its price.

There are 4 kinds of freedom:

1. Mental & Emotional Freedom — Mastering your thoughts instead of being ruled by them.

2. Financial Freedom — Making money work for you, not trading your soul for a paycheck.

3. Time Freedom — Owning your hours instead of selling them to someone else’s dream.

4. Location Freedom — The ability to live, work, and thrive wherever your spirit feels alive.

Comfort will kill more dreams than failure ever will.

Choose freedom. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.

What freedom is most important to you?
