FOCUSED OR FUDDLED

I was trained to get things done - not to "not do things."

However, I've learned that knowing what not to do is more valuable than doing.

When your list of activities becomes overwhelming, some coaching programs advocate the Eisenhower Matrix to sort through the Urgent and Not Urgent tasks.

This may be great for prioritizing many high stakes issues, but there are times when less is more.

Growth for the sake of expanding is not always the right path.

YOUR NOT-TO-DO LIST

My mentor T. Harv Eker taught that one of the fastest ways to grow your personal development is to learn from the successful strategies of others.

Why re-invent the wheel of failure when others have gone before you?

This is not to say that failures are bad because every failure is the foundation upon which success is built on.

But why not take a short cut if you can.

So, for all of us who love To-Do lists and a full calendar of activities, let us take a pause and ruthlessly focus on what we do well by taking inventory of your Not-To-Do List.

Remember - it's better to be a big fish in a small pond of your choosing.

DURABLE WPC PANELS

The most wear and tear in a rental building is the elevator.

Wood Plastic Composite panels are an inexpensive outdoor solution to an interior problem.

WPC resists moisture, UV rays, mold, pests, impacts, scrapes, and is highly durable.

It sure beats having to fix drywall every month, plus it has an elegant aesthetic.

LOUGHEED LANDMARK UPDATE

We announced our milestone event at the February 28th investor update meeting: after four Planners and 19 revisions, the successful submission of a 25-storey purpose-built rental building in Coquitlam.

The City Planner would not allow the restaurant level even though their bylaws do not prohibit it - which is a shame since Joey Coquitlam was interested in relocating here.

Although the City did their best to cut the daycare from 86 to 25 children, we were able to negotiate space for 74 children.

It has yet to go through final approval, and we are hoping that the extra level of office space will be reinstated - this would benefit the City as it will generate far more tax revenue than residential units.

Subscriptions remain open for Class C Units for a few more months to accredited investors only.

IMITATING LAS VEGAS

If you have ever visited The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, they are known for their false sky.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so their design was quickly copied by other malls.

So, why not bring the outdoors inside an apartment building?

SMART WATERPROOFING

Infinity drains, also known as smart drains, are common features found in high end hotels in Asia and Europe that often require secondary overflow drainage systems in their building code.

This is how they prevent leaks and mitigate water damage.

Don't you think it's about time that North America started including these smart drains into our building designs?

It would certainly cut down insurance claims and lower premiums.
