Bank of Canada Overnight Rate Announcement

Can we talk about the elephant in the room?

That's me and Kelly in Thailand, Spring of 2008. Seven years ago! Wow.

Now how about the other elephant?

The Bank of Canada will make their next overnight lending rate announcement tomorrow at 10 A.M.

The consensus seems to be that there will be no change-because we are in a technical "recession" (thanks, low oil prices). I won't talk about Iran here, because that would delve into Mid-East politics. Not gonna even touch that...

However, in bigger news, the U.S. Federal Reserve (a.k.a. "The Fed") IS expected to raise their rate, signaling a strengthened economy south of the border.

So, to sum up, don't get used to cheap money.

Use a licensed independent professional when signing a contract to borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars to be repaid over seversal decades.

That's all :)

Early 1930's Jacobean Desk and Chair - Offers?

Any Antique Hounds out there?

This is a 1930's Jacobean desk and Chair in great shape.

Our grandparents just don't have the room for it anymore.

Give me a shout 416-985-6339 and we can work out a price and delivery.

I would say a starting price is $550. Surprise me with an offer!

Ever heard of a "Not-To-Do" List?

The Not-To-Do List- 9 Ha...g of Author Tim Ferriss

Thanks to Tim Ferriss for putting together these 9 "not-to-do's".

Just by implementing the email batching suggestion alone, one can save hours per day.

Perhaps my email is one of the ones you will batch and delete!

Go ahead, I won't be offended. :)

May you get more done by NOT doing the things on this list....

Bill 55 - What is it? Why Should You Care?

Mark Weisleder Newsletter August 17

Mark Weisleder is a Toronto-based real estate lawyer. He really knows what he's talking about.

So when he put out this quick one pager on Bill 55, I thought it would be great to share with anyone who is looking to buy or sell a home.

Bill 55="Bidding War" rules of engagement.

Simply put, Bill 55 is designed to provide transparency and a measure of ethics to the multiple-offer scenario that is playing out-primarily in Toronto and Vancouver.

(That being said, many other smaller markets are seeing the same thing-be forewarned)

Feel free to download Mark's informative article and be prepared and protected.
